book review: the fault in our stars
In my short life I have read quite a few good books. So far my all time favorite
would be The Fault in Our Stars: by John Green. The way it was written is amazing. Some people do not enjoy love stories and all though this can be considered a love story, it is much more than that. It’s a love story, a cancer story, and a comedy all rolled into one. The characters are hilarious and witty. You will not be sorry if you read this book.
The main girl is Hazel Grace. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and now has to wear
a breathing tube that she carries around with her everywhere. Gus is the main
guy and he was diagnosed with bone cancer. He became free of it but ended up
losing his leg because of it. Hazel Grace still has cancer. They both meet at
this support group that Gus’s friend Isaac made him go to. After support group
they stand outside while Hazel waits for her mom to show up. Gus invites her to
his house and she agrees so they drive over to his house.
While there they talk a lot and Hazel Grace ends up telling Augustus about her
favorite book An Imperial Affliction. Gus gives her a book to read that he loves and vows to read her favorite book.
I will tell you no more than that for fear of saying something that will ruin
the book for you, but they go on a wild and romantic journey together after
this. The story is well thought out and easily my favorite book ever! Just a
little heads up for you. If I were you I would keep some tissues on hand while
reading this book. You will most likely cry but in a way it makes the book even
better.
