School is almost out, who’s excited? I for one definitely am! This school year went by pretty fast until a little after the third quarter started, then it just sort of started to slowly go by.
One thing I absolutely hate is the last few weeks of the school year. Now don’t get me wrong the last few weeks has it’s good parts too, like those end of the year jitters you get when you know it is finally the end of the year, or those classes you have with your favorite teachers were all you do is watch movies or just sit around and hang out. Those are the parts of my day that I cannot wait till I get there and I know we all feel that way. It’s just that kids do not want to do a lot of work at the end of the year. Their brains are so tired at the end of the year that they can hardly process the lesson the teacher is giving them let alone do projects and homework. Those fun teachers are the ones that get remembered with fond memories and smiles, those other teachers are remembered by how boring and how much they dreaded that class.
My history teacher is a good example of one of those good teachers. Since I am in AP history we have this huge test that we study for all year and really cram a lot into our heads throughout the year, so once our test is taken he gives us a break and we watch history movies for the rest of the year like Band of Brothers. The key is to find movies that kids really like but is still educational.
I have another teacher for math that is one of the good teachers. She gives us a break from learning at the end of the year and gives us just one big assignment to do that is due at the second to last friday and once we get with it we can just relax and talk. These teachers always tend to be students favorites because they can relate to and understand their students.
